Members enjoyed a memorable visit to the THRILL horse farm on July 14, where we learned about the therapeutic riding programs provided to children, youth and adults with physical, emotional and intellectual challenges.

AUGUST 2025

34 Probus Club members and friends share a wonderful day at the Buddhist Temple Tour on August 18. Thanks to Diane Reeds, for this memorable picture.

Maria Bennett commented: “Thank you for sharing a wonderful day at the Buddhist Temple with 34 Probus Club members and friends. It’s a special experience to meditate with a monk. We are certainly blessed to have this opportunity.”

Jane Stewart commented: “Today was very special. The tour, the knowledge that was shared, the beauty and peacefulness of the grounds and temple were so inspiring. My favourite was sound meditation. That was a new experience for me. I felt “enlightened” when I left the site. And the lunch was delicious. Unfortunately I was so hungry I ate more than I should have. But on the other hand, I didn’t need supper. Thank you once again for a wonderful day.”

Lunch following the Tour was at Aunt Laura’s Tea Room, Bethany.
Afternoon Social on August 14 at Olympia Restaurant, enjoyed by 11 members.

Happy Birthday, Catherine Philp. A delightful lady, who is 95 yrs. young today, and is an inspiration to all.

SEPTEMBER 2025

Janet Riseborough and Maria Bennet on the ‘Three Pines Tour’, September 2 – 6, with DeNure Tours. A fascinating trip that was enjoyed by other Probus Club members from Stratford and Port Perry. More Women’s Probus Club of Lindsay members are going to enjoy this experience early in October. Louise Penny, here they come. 🙂

A great time was had by all at the Canadian Canoe Museum, followed by lunch at Berc’s Steakhouse in Peterborough. Good food, fun and fellowship. Probus Clubs are educational and social and those goals were certainly met!
